By default, if your network adapter is set to use a static IP address but it should be using DHCP, this should fix it. However, it’s a good idea to check yourself too.
In this configuration none my devices are able to connect to internet and I get Unidentified Network message. Nov 11, 2009 · To temporarily resolve the problem, I could disable and re-enable the LAN card after each reboot in the Device Manager, which would cause the unidentified network disappear and the Internet connection to be restored. But the problem reappeared after each reboot.
Jan 26, 2015 · Although I was able to fix the unidentified network by entering the DNS servers into the nic properties, it still seems to be failing to accept the IP address DNS reserved for the servername. instead it's picking up a new IP address.
