I had the same issue of "Awww Snap" due to compatibility with SEP. My IT person at work had an easy fix, they simply checked the "Run This Program in Compatibility Mode for Windows 8" box in Chrome Properties under the Compatibility tab. Just right click on the Chrome icon and select Properties then select the tab.
