Don’t know why so I opted to download and install the “Skype for Windows” app. I duly set it up and it also works fine. I did not realise that there are two versions of Skype: a) My version is 8.58.0.93 which is, I believe, the “Skype for Windows”, a desktop app.

Jul 08, 2019 · This article appears to be well out of date. I was unable to use any of the tips because (a) Skype does not appear in the Task Manager startups list and (b) there are no options on any of the Skype dropdowns to uninstall it. Skype is not listed as an installed program, so I cannot uninstall it by conventional methods either.
